Hey, lovebirds! So, you're gearing up for your engagement photo session—so so exciting! This is an incredibly beautiful time in your journey together, and capturing it on camera is an awesome way to celebrate your love. If you're feeling a bit unsure about what to expect or how to prepare, don't worry, I've got your back. Let's get into it! Follow along while I go over how to get ready for your session, together!

Your engagement photos are more than just really really (really!)  pretty pictures—they're a celebration of your unique love story. Whether you were high school sweethearts or you met on a dating app, your photos will capture the essence of your relationship and the journey that brought you together. So embrace your love story, quirks and all, and let it absolutely SHINE through in your photos.

Let’s get to know one another

Your engagement session is a great opportunity to get to know me before your wedding day. We can chat about your vision for the day, any special locations or props you want to include, and your comfort level in front of the camera. The more comfortable you feel with your photographer, the more relaxed and natural your photos will turn out. I will always ask to do an engagement shoot before your wedding just so we can get to know one another, so you can feel confident in me and know that I will have you 100% covered day of.

Location, Location

When it comes to location: in Edmonton, the options are endless. Whether you're dreaming of a romantic sunset (lake? I mean its Alberta after all.)  shoot or a cozy living room setting, choose a location that feels meaningful to you as a couple. Maybe it's where you had your first date, or where you got engaged—whatever it is, make sure it reflects your personality and style.

Dress to Impress (But Stay True to You!)

When it comes to wardrobe choices, the key is stay true to yourselves. Wear outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident, whether that's a casual jeans-and-tee combo or a fancy cocktail dress. Coordinate your outfits, but don't match too perfectly—you want to complement each other, not look like you're wearing matching uniforms.  I will always help you choose an outfit if you need aswell!

On the day of your session, take a deep breath, relax, and soak it all in!. This is your time to celebrate your love and have fun together, so don't stress about getting the perfect shot. Trust me, I will capture all your natural chemistry and genuine emotions, so just enjoy being in each other's company.
